SPLASHISSIMO and Wacom

Splashissimo 2.0 is an event in which, together with the Twitch art community, we try to create original pieces in the style of the well-known character presentation SPLASH ARTS that we see in the video game industry today. The event seeks to bring closer the experience of the process involved in making a piece of art at a professional level. Trying to accompany this process with theoretical content and feedback on the works, so that they can reach the end of the event with a closed piece and aimed at being part of their portfolios.

The main objective is learning during the development of the entire event, not just the fact of delivering a final work that meets the requirements of the main slogan. We consider important the part of acquiring knowledge during the journey and being able to apply what we have learned week by week on their works. That is why one of the main requirements to obtain the final prize will be to have participated in 3/4 of the deliveries that this event will have.

Not only the final piece will be evaluated, but the process they have carried out. All instances need to be covered.

Antecedent:

During the first edition of Splashissimo (2021), I took on the role of Art Director, and my role was  to try to accompany the participants in their process, trying to guide them in the best possible direction , always taking into consideration the objectives of each proposal.

Paying attention and accompanying their journey with personalized feedback, theoretical content and references according to the needs of the artists, is an important part of this experience.

Details of SPLASHISSIMO 2.0

Splashissimo will take place during the month of April, ending the first week of May. Starting the same on Monday, April 11 at 10 pm on Twitch .

• The main slogan will be to make a Splash Art.
• It can be of a character, original or a Fan Art of an existing character.
• The dimensions of the illustrations must be in 16:9 at 1920×1080 and at least 150dpi.
• There will be 3 main prizes ( Wacom Intuos ) and 7 mentions.

We will have 2 weekly meetings on my Twitch channel . The first where we will see theory and the slogan of the week and the second will be a space to give feedback on the progress they are making.

The first 10 works, in order of delivery every week, will be the ones that will receive live feedback. It will be evaluated that there are significant changes week by week in each work to determine if feedback is given or not.

Who can participate and how the winners will be chosen: 

• We invite all artists from North America, Latin America and Europe to participate in the event.
• Non-digital art is welcome.
• They do not necessarily have to be Wacom users to participate.
• They do not have to be professional artists to participate.
• Winners will be announced on Twitch and Discord on the last day of the event.
• The winners will be chosen by a jury of professional artists.
